Route II (Heraklion-Anatoli via Ierapetra Crete)

After passing the village of  Pahia Ammos (seaside village) there is another junction with right turn towards Ierapetra. You continue straight for another 12 klm about, and then signs inform you that you are approaching Ierapetra. You reach Ierapetra and you find yourself just outside the city in a junction with street lights. If you continue the road ahead you will enter the city, to the left you go to Sitia and to the right you go towards Vianos-Myrtos-Gra Lygia. You take this  direction (right turn) and you are at the ring road of Ierapetra doing a quarter of a circle around the city. At the end you can only make  a right turn with signs again repeating towards Myrtos-Viannos-Gra Lygia. You continue straight towards west of Ierapetra (you leave the city behind) and to your left there is the sea.

At about 4,5 Klm you will meet  on your left hand side a big supermarket and a little further a right turner with signs towards Anatoli-Malles-Kalogeri (three villages along the road). This  road takes you straight to Anatoli. At about 500m there is V junction you keep to the left and continue straight. After 12 klm you will first see Anatoli hanging in a slop. You are at the bottom of the village, on the main road, and the village is on your right.

KALLIRHOE HOUSE
You leave the main road and take a right turn to a narrow country road that ends in the village cemetery. At about 200m there is a widening of the street (a plateau) where you park. The first upward walkway to your left you have just passed takes you to the house, which you will see behind the Communal Fountain (about 30m from the plateau).

You continue the main road and at about 500m you will see a big, abandoned building on your right side-the old olive oil refinery-and to your left  another red sign pointing right turn towards

PASIPHAE HOUSE
You leave the main road and take a right turn to a country road all around the old refinery. You follow this road and at about 100m you will see an oblong building at your right hand side, half under road level, the old School. You park there . The next stepped walkway to your left  takes you to the house.

You continue on the main road past the old refinery and now you are taking a loop around and out of the village. You are ascending and at the end of the loop you reach a V junction with signs. Left turn leads to the next village of Malles,  so you take a right turn and you are at the top part of the village. You cross the village and just before the end you will meet the third sign of Dorovinis Houses pointing right towards.

SMARAGDA HOUSE and MESOCHORIA  KAFENEION (Coffee House)
Park your car on widenings of the main road and follow the walkway. At about 50m you reach the junction with the old market street with directions either to the left or to the right. You turn right and at 15m you are at Smaragda House on your left and at “MESOCHORIA KAFENEION” on your right.
